Town Manager's Report

Streets:

• Staff  cleaned East and West Main Street

• Staff has repaired a number of street lights

• Staff worked with contractor to trim all of the street trees on East & West Main Street

• Staff worked with the contractor to install guard-rail on North Federal Avenue

• Staff took down "Fallen Firefighters" banners

Water:

• Rainbow Lake is now about 12" below the spillway  

• The roughing filters are now being backwashed twice per day and the DE filters are being done once per week

• Staff is rebuilding one of the DE filters

  Water production and consumption.  We produced and purchased an average of 328,826 gpd.  We consumed an average of 282,526 gpd 

  •  

  • The difference is "Backwash Water" ...(14.0%).   We purchased 252,200 gals. of water from MSM this month.

  • 48.7% of this water came from wells 

  •   3.0% of this water came from Mt. St. Mary's

  • 48.3%  of this water came from Rainbow Lake 

Wastewater:

• Staff is continuing to operate the overland flow treatment system

• We received about 1.8 inches of precipitation this month (the average is 3.5 inches)

  • We have a surplus of 2.2" of  precipitation over the last six months.  The average precipitation for the period from May 1 thru Oct. 31 is 23.9" and we have received 26.1" for that period. 

• Wastewater Treatment:

  • We treated an average of 349,000 gpd (consumed 282,526 gpd) which means that 19.0% of the wastewater treated this month was "wild water".  

  • We experienced no spill of untreated sewerage during the month of October       

• We exceeded the plant's design capacity one day during the month of October

• 10/25  1,135,000 gal.   

Trash: 

• Trash pickup will remain Monday and Thursday for the Month of November, 2008, with the exception of November 27th which will have no pick-up.

Parks:

• Staff made all standard checks and emptied trash cans

• Staff winterized the restrooms in the parks

• Staff winterized the swimming pool

• Staff performed standard mowing and trimming
