The funeral of Miss Julia Zeck, who died last Monday after an illness of six days took place from the residence of of Mr. and
Mrs. M. F. Shuff, with whom she had made her home for the past thirty years, Wednesday afternoon. The services at the house were conducted by Rev.
William Charles Day, pastor of the Lutheran Church. The interment was in the Lutheran Church cemetery. The pall-bearers were all cousins of Miss Zeck:
Messrs. Clarence Frailey, Charles Rowe, Howard Rowe, Frank Rowe, Charles Hoke and William Sellers.
Miss Zeck was a little over 80 years of age, being born near Emmitsburg, taking up her residence in town just sixty-five years
ago. Miss Zeck was of a lovable disposition particularly fond of children, being very much devoted to her nephews and nieces whose early education she
watched carefully and of late taking a decided interest in her grand-nephew, M. F. Shuff, III. For sixty-five years she was a member of the Lutheran
Church choir, possessing a rich voice and through her untiring efforts the music was of a high order for the services. She always took an active part in
all affairs pertaining to her church and was much interested in the new parsonage now under construction
Miss Zeck is survived by one sister, Mrs. M. F. Shuff.
