Lora Blanche Dubel Sayler,
89, of Emmitsburg, MD, died peacefully Sunday, October 7, 2012, at St. Catherine Nursing Center in Emmitsburg.
Born October 17, 1922 in Keysville, she was the daughter of the late John and Annie Holland Dubel. She was the wife of the late Robert R. Sayler, her husband of 52 years, who passed away January 16, 1997.
Blanche was a graduate of Taneytown High School, class of 1941. She worked at the Taneytown Manufacturing Company. She owned and operated Sayler's Store in Emmitsburg along with her husband, Bob, for many years. She was a member of Elias Evangelical Lutheran Church in Emmitsburg where she once taught Sunday School. She was a member of the Rocky
Ridge Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary and had been active with the Emmitsburg Senior Citizens. She enjoyed baking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are daughter, Mary Jane Moser and husband, Bob, of Emmitsburg; special friend, Bernard "Bun" Wivell; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Marshall and Morris Dubel.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 11, at Elias Evangelical Lutheran Church, 100 W. North St., Emmitsburg, MD, with the Rev. Jon R. Greenstone officiating.
