Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Sweeney

Mrs. Betty Elizabeth Sweeney, age 85, of Emmitsburg, MD, died on Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Gettysburg Hospital.
Born April 29, 1926 in Emmitsburg, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Myers Ridenour. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald W. Sweeney.
She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, and loved singing, dancing, and all kinds of music. She enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren.
Surviving children are, Donald Sweeney of Emmitsburg, Ronald Sweeney and wife Julie of Emmitsburg, Maxine Shriner of Emmitsburg, Jackie Sweeney of Emmitsburg, and Alicia Wood and companion Dale
Lamendola of Emmitsburg; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Albert Sweeney; and by siblings, John Ridenour, Gertie Powell, Anna Ridenour, Dorothy Wills, and Leo Ridenour.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 47 DePaul St., Emmitsburg, MD with the Rev. Charles F. Krieg, C.M. serving as celebrant.
Interment will follow at New St. Joseph Cemetery
