Mrs. Ann Elizabeth Cool, 61, of Thurmont, died Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore, following an extended illness.
Born July 25, 1947, in Gettysburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Helen M. (Ridenour) Sharer and stepdaughter of the late Ralph E. Sharer Sr. She was the wife of David E. Cool.
She was employed by Mount St. Mary's College early in life in the housekeeping and custodial department. She spent her later years at Thurmont Shoe Factory in the assembly unit. She enjoyed playing bingo and visiting Charles Town Races and Slots.
Surviving in addition to her husband, is daughter, Kimberly Ann Cool, of Thurmont; son, David Vincent Cool, of Thurmont; sister, Shirley Fuhrman, of Hanover, Pa.; sister, Eva Miller, of Emmitsburg; brother, Lloyd Sharer, of Emmitsburg; sister, Janice Eyler, of Emmitsburg;
sister, Sherry Tester, of Frederick; and granddaughter, Angel Cool; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by a brother, Ralph E. Sharer Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Blue Ridge
Cemetery in Thurmont. The Rev. Tim Robbins will officiate.
