Mr. Albert Powell Stambaugh, 88, of Rocky Ridge, died peacefully Tuesday, June 3, at his home with his loving family at his side. He was the husband of Pauline Meadows Stambaugh to whom he would have been married 62 years on June 29.

Born Feb. 24, 1920, in Rocky Ridge, he was the son of the late Harvey L. and Maude Pryor Stambaugh.

Mr. Stambaugh was a member of Mount Tabor United Church of Christ of Rocky Ridge, where he served on the Church Council, Cemetery Board, and Mount Tabor Park Board. Wherever he was needed he would be there. He was a lifelong farmer, loving husband and a great father, grandfather, and great- grandfather, He loved life.

Surviving are two children, Albert "Larry" Stambaugh and wife, Betty, of Smithsburg and Shirley Sharrer and husband, Jeff, of Rocky Ridge; grandchildren, Kenneth Stambaugh and wife, Debbie, of Smithsburg, Tracy Boyle and husband, Vince of Waynesboro, Kevin and Melissa Sharrer of Rocky Ridge; great- grandchildren: Garrett Tamayo and Kenneth "Teddy" Stambaugh; and brother:, Franklin Stambaugh and wife, Marie, of Rocky Ridge; several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Luther, Marvin and Monroe Stambaugh; and a sister: Clara Stambaugh.

Mr. Stambaugh is at the Robert E. Dailey & Son Funeral Homes, P.A., 615 E. Main St., Thurmont where friends may call 3 to 5 and 7 to9 p.m. Friday, June 6.

On Saturday, June 7, Mr. Stambaugh will be removed to the Mt. Tabor United Church of Christ, 10043 Longs Mill Road, Rocky Ridge where he will repose in state from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at which time services will begin with his pastor the Rev. Esther Ziegler officiating.

Interment will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Rocky Ridge.
