Mr. John Humerick

Mr. John Gerald "Jack" Humerick, 92, of W. Main St., Emmitsburg, died Saturday, January 6, 2007, at St. Catherine's Nursing Center, Emmitsburg.

Born September 23, 1914, in Altoona, Pa., he was a son of the late Jackson A. and Annie Taylor Humerick. A graduate of Altoona High School, he worked most in heavy industry and in later years in real estate and mutual funds.

Mr. Humerick was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Emmitsburg; a life member of Knights of Columbus, Brute Council 1860, Emmitsburg; and a former member of Vigilant Hose Co., Emmitsburg.

He is survived by his wife, D. Eleanor (Mingel) Humerick; two sons, John Michael Humerick of King Salem Alaska and Thomas William Humerick of Emmitsburg; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Hilda Mahoney of Florida and Dorothy Seiss of Emmitsburg. He was predeceased by two daughters, Dorothy Eleanor Fink and Linda Ann Humerick; one brother, George Taylor Humerick; and four sisters, Catherine Washabaugh, Helen Brown, Mary Sherwin and Marian Boyle.

A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 13 from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Emmitsburg, with his pastor, the Rev. Stephen P. Trzecieski, C.M. as the celebrant.

Inurnment will be at the convenience of the family in Altoona, Pa.
