Full Moon: November's full moon occurs on the 15th and has been known as the dying grass moon or falling leaf moon because frost has killed the grass and the last leaves are falling from the trees by this time every year.
Special Notes: Be sure to vote on Election Day on November 8th. All elections are important ones so participate in any election be held at the state, municipality, township, or borough level. Become involved today!
Holidays: We cannot forget any of our many veterans on Veteran's Day celebrated on Friday, November 11th. Always remember that it was through their sacrifice that we have the freedom to do what we want to do, say what we want to say,
and be who we want to be. Make a pledge to live up to the gift of liberty every day. Enjoy Thanksgiving Season with loved ones and remember all of the things that we are thankful for in our daily lives. And check out holiday craft ideas at http://familyinternet.about.com/msubtgcrafts.htm.
The Garden: Don't put away the rake until all of the leaves and pine needles have fallen to the ground. Even though lawns rest in winter, they still need all the winter sunlight they can get. Also, take the time to organize, clean, and
sharpen your garden tools. Keep them from underfoot, cleaned, and sharpened and they will be ready to go come spring. And don't forget the lawn mower. Drain the gas tank, change the oil, check the spark plug for wear, and sharpen those blades!
John Gruber's Thoughts on Today's Living:
"Every person has two educations - one which he receives from others and one more important which he gives himself."
