"When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could not stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be twenty-one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in 7 years"
Mark twain (1836-1875)

Tornado watch: there is tornado activity forecasted for the month of June on or about the 15th and 16th of the month.
Full moon: June's full moon occurs on June 21st. It is sometimes referred to as the strawberry moon because of the many strawberry blossoms that make their appearance during this time. It is also referred to as the full rose moon
because roses bloom near the beginning of June.
Special notes: remember those that died on Normandy beach that day, June 6th, 1944 and everyone who sacrificed during all of world war ii. We owe each and every one of them so much! The summer solstice occurs on June 21st, which is
the longest day of the year and the beginning of summer.
Holidays: Fly old glory with pride on flag day, Tuesday, the 14th and don't forget dad on his special day, Sunday, June 19th. Do something really special for the guy who a) paid for 4 years of college, b) paid for a really nice
wedding, c) helped you finance that new (fill in the blank), or d) all of the above!
The garden: Plan to mow your lawn only once a week but never mow when the lawn is wet! Varying the pattern of mowing (on the diagonal one week, length-wise the next) will help develop a velvety thick lawn. Water lawns and gardens
wisely this summer. Clip off wilted flowers of annuals to make the yard look neater.
J. Grubers' thought for today's living:
"Some students think of "graduation" as the end of school days; others prefer that the word "commencement" as the start an opportunity to learn even more"
