(2/17) Rep. Dan Moul (R-Adams/Franklin), who was first elected to represent the 91st Legislative District in Adams and Franklin counties in 2007, announced today that he will seek another term in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
"It is a tremendous honor to serve the great people of Adams and Franklin counties," said Moul. "My enthusiasm and passion for public service and my understanding of the important issues facing the Commonwealth continue to grow. Today, I put my record before the citizens of the 91st Legislative District and humbly ask for their support for another term in office."
Since being elected to the House, Moul has sponsored several pieces of legislation that have become law and are making a positive difference in the lives of the citizens of his district. Last year, he brought home a $3.25 million grant to update Adams County’s 911 emergency system.
A member of the House Tourism and Recreational Development Committee, Moul was responsible for legislation that enabled Adams County to increase the tax on hotel stays. The so-called "pillow tax," generates about $800,000 in additional revenue annually for the promotion of tourism and agri-tourism, which is credited with increasing the county’s hotel and restaurant
business and the sale of Adams County products.
As vice chairman of the House Children and Youth Committee and a strong advocate for children, Moul is responsible for a new law that is designed to help children avoid foster care by placing them in the loving homes of willing relatives. Eight other child welfare bills, which passed through his committee, are now pending in the state Senate.
Moul said he believes he is the only member of the House who does not accept campaign contributions from special interest Political Action Committees. "I accept contributions from the people I represent and when I go to Harrisburg, I never forget for whom I am working," he said.
"I am grateful for the opportunity to serve and there remains much more work to do," said Moul.
"That is why I am asking my constituents for their continued trust, support and the privilege of another term."
