Lights, Camera, AOK!

(5/18) Get straight to the "art" of the matter this summer with the AOK Players and their fun-filled children's show, Lights, Camera, AOK, presented by the Adams County Arts Council. This high-energy theatre troupe is a sure-fire hit as they bring their collective creativity to some of your favorite arts-related tales. This all-ages interactive play will feature song, story and movement. You'll love seeing AOK in "action".

Under the direction of Jessica Staub, the AOK Players, young members of the ACTS of Kindness Theatre Company, have been touring York and Adams counties since 2006. The cast members are college and high school students who love performing in a range of venues for a wide range of audiences. At each AOK show, the cast vividly interprets children's literature and sings favorite children's songs. The actors have a unique way of involving the audience through motions, sing-alongs, and incorporating the children into the stories.

Jessica Staub has a B.A. in theatre from Gettysburg College and numerous local acting, directing, and teaching credits. In addition to directing and managing the AOK Players, she is the musical director at Spring Grove Area High School, an instructor for the LIU Summer Academy, and the co-founder and production coordinator for the ACTS of Kindness Theatre Company, which will bring its high-flying version of the musical Peter Pan to the New Oxford High School auditorium July 31 - Aug 2 and August 7-9 as a benefit for the Arts Council and York/Adams Chapters of the American Red Cross.

Lights, Camera, AOK! will be presented the following days, times and places:

East Berlin Community Center - June 10 at 10:00am; Gettysburg Recreation Park - June 11 at 10:00am; Granite Hill Campground, Gettysburg - June 12 at 8 pm; Oakside Community Park, Biglerville - June 19 at 7 pm; and The Gettysburg Festival Main Stage at Penn Hall on June 22 at 2 pm and June 23 at 11 am. The troupe will also perform for the children at Hoffman Homes.
