(1/10) The Gettysburg Convention & Visitors Bureau, the official Tourism Promotion Agency for Gettysburg and Adams County, PA, launched their new destination website, www.gettysburg.travel earlier this year. The new site was designed by Connelly Design Studio located in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.

The Gettysburg Convention & Visitors Bureau (GCVB) launched under the .travel domain as a way to elevate the Bureau from other Gettysburg websites. .travel is the Internet top level domain exclusively dedicated to businesses, organizations and individuals in the travel and tourism industry. Updated daily, the GCVB provides current and upcoming events, information on tours and attractions, dining, shopping, and accommodations. The website also offers specialized maps, a growing photo gallery, news, and a brief overview of area history.

New to the gettysburg.travel website is a Trip Builder function, allowing a user to create and save an itinerary for their planned visit to Gettysburg and surrounding Adams County. The site also features a packages section and a listing of current specials available. Visitors can still visit the site to request a Visitor Guide to be sent to their home. Visitors can also sign up to receive an electronic newsletter, "Destination Gettysburg" that will launch in the first quarter of 2007.

Group Tour Operators and Leaders as well as Meeting and Convention Planners will find a special entry on gettysburg.travel. The new site aims to help drive these groups to the specific tools they will need to plan their visit to the Gettysburg area. The Media as well will find a special section. News releases, facts and figures, as well as high resolution images are available online for journalists to use.
