Americas’ Arts gallery is committed to the vision of exhibiting original works of art
created by artists of The Americas. For the artist exhibiting with us, we create a unique
gallery experience in the historically significant town of Gettysburg.
Emphasizing contemporary art that goes beyond the traditional confines of Gettysburg’s
historical heritage, our gallery offers the advantage of significant public exposure to
the large number of visitors who travel to "America’s most famous small town" throughout
the year, as well as, to the large number of "regulars" from surrounding Maryland and
Pennsylvania communities.
Americas’ Arts main gallery is located in the center of the town, on the main east-west
road. Our block includes Gettysburg’s finest restaurant, The Blue Parrot Bistro, in which
we have a second gallery space. We also a third, permanent gallery installation in the
Adams County National Bank building's Lincoln Square location.
Typically, a body-of-work show in our main gallery features between 16 and 22 pieces
for a single artist, depending on size. Both the Blue Parrot Bistro and Adams County
National Bank galleries offer gallery space than can carry as many as 35 pieces, depending
on size.
In the main gallery, there is a new show every month, with successive shows
overlapping. This provides plenty of new experiences for our patrons and visitors, and
also substantial exposure time for the artists. The Blue Parrot Bistro gallery features a
new show every two months, and the Bank gallery features a new show every four months.
Typically, each artist’s show opens on the First Friday of the month, with the Opening
Reception usually running from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the main gallery, and from 5:30 to
7:30 in the other two locations.
Americas' Arts gallery exhibits all original work by artists of North, Central, and
South America, featuring a new show each month. The gallery, located at 57 Chambersburg
Street in Gettysburg, is open Wednesday through Saturday, from Noon to 7:00 p.m. and
Friday evenings until 8:00 p.m. For further information about current or future
exhibitions, contact gallery owner Larry Knutson at (717)-337-9070.
